Throughout a career steeped in versatility, Dorothy Huntsman has spent time as a student, a mother, and a model. While a stint with the Ford Agency took her to New York City, Germany, and Australia, a marriage at 20 kicked off her journey into motherhood. As she raised her first two children, Dorothy earned a Bachelor’s in English from Columbia University (thanks to a strict routine of study, nurse, commute, class, repeat). It was during this sleepless era that Dorothy began her first home remodel. The space ultimately re-sold for twice what the family had paid for it, and post-9/11, they picked up and relocated to Salt Lake City.
After the birth of her third child, Dorothy started a photography business, which eventually morphed into an art business, and PicArt Shop—a venture of transferring photographic images to canvas and mixed media presentations—was born. All the while, Dorothy had continual success remodeling and selling homes, and in 2015 she had her first project feature in Utah Style & Design magazine. She eventually became her own general contractor, and—after receiving inquiries in Utah and Seattle—Dorothy now encourages others to explore the creative process by helping them to remodel their own homes.
